Trusses Go Up On #49

Habitat volunteer Bob "Dawg" Clum helps a Henderson County High School student set the second truss to go up on the new house under construction at 804 Meadow Street. Students in the Construction Technologies classes have performed much of the construction work on this 49th Habitat house, aided by members of Habitat's Thursday Crew and homeowner candidates. Bob Clum is both a member of the Thursday Crew and a volunteer teacher's aide for the class. He is a University of Georgia alum and avid fan, thus the nickname!

Breaking Ground for House #50!

More than 60 people celebrated the "milestone event" of the groundbreaking of the 50th Habitat house to be built in Henderson/Henderson County Tuesday evening, October 12th. From left to right: Donna Mathias, Chair, Habitat's Family Services Committee, Jake, Alexandria and Judy Sheeley, to be the recipient family, LouAnn Clark, Family Advocate, and Paul Bird, President, Habitat's Board of Directors. The event also commemorates Habitat's 20th anniversary of work and ministry in Henderson.

Once again employers are being asked all across Henderson County to allow their employees to wear denim and/or dress casual each Friday during October, paying for the privilege and contributing their support of Habitat for Humanity's work. The employer pays nothing. For more details, contact Sarah Heath at Habitat: 826-0015 or
